OUR STORY
Hi, I'm Lorna.
Long before I knew what skincare formulation was, I was the child crushing flower petals into bowls of water, mixing "potions" in the garden and hunting for interesting bottles to pour them into.
I was completely convinced they were magical.
01
WHERE IT BEGAN
It always started with making.
As I got older, that turned into daydreams of having a little shop of my own. Not necessarily a skincare shop. Just a beautiful little space filled with things I loved. Somewhere with shelves full of treasures, old bottles, candles, little rituals and things that felt special. Somewhere I could disappear into my own world for a while.
I never quite outgrew that version of myself.
Life just became a little busier.
Over the last six years, I spent my days formulating skincare, creating products and helping build something that changed my life. It was exciting, magical, exhausting, rewarding, overwhelming and wonderful all at once.
I learned more than I ever thought possible.
I watched ideas become real products.
I watched a small idea grow into something far bigger than I ever imagined.
And despite everything, my favourite part was always the same.
The making.
The experimenting.
The testing.
The excitement of a new idea scribbled down before bed.
The feeling of standing over a workbench and creating something from nothing.

A NEW CHAPTER
Moving to Cyprus.
What we dreamed about
Then, in 2025, my family and I moved from the UK to Cyprus.
It was something we'd dreamed about for years.
More sunshine, more family time, less rushing, less stress, more of the life we wanted.
And when we finally arrived, so much of it was exactly what we'd hoped for.
The sea. The slower pace.
The feeling of spending more time living and less time rushing through life.
For someone who has always been drawn to water, it felt like a place I should instantly belong.
What I wasn't expecting
But alongside all of that excitement was something I wasn't expecting.
I felt unsettled.
Not because I didn't love Cyprus.
I did. And I still do.
But when you strip away everything familiar, you also strip away a lot of the things you've unknowingly tied your identity to.
The places you've always known.
The routines you've built.
The people around you.
The version of yourself you've spent years becoming.
For the first time in a very long time, I wasn't entirely sure who I was.
I found myself feeling torn between completely different worlds.
I loved the sunshine, the beaches and the sea.
But I missed dark winter afternoons.
I missed old buildings. I missed cobbled streets. I missed cosy cafés. I missed gloomy skies. I missed parts of England I never thought I'd miss.
At first, I thought I had to choose between those versions of myself.
The girl who loves sunshine and saltwater.
Or the girl who loves candles, old books, stormy weather and anything slightly mysterious.
The truth is, they’re both me.
They always have been.
And I think moving here forced me to finally accept that.

BETWEEN CONTRADICTIONS
Where INDIglow was born.
INDIglow was born somewhere in the middle of all those contradictions.
It's inspired by island life, but probably not in the way people expect.
It's not just about beaches and sunshine.
It's about freedom.
It's about rediscovering yourself.
It's about embracing every side of who you are instead of trying to squeeze yourself into one box.
The version of yourself you've always shown the world, and the version you've kept tucked away.
In a strange way, moving to this island didn't inspire me to become somebody new.
It inspired me to stop hiding parts of who I'd been all along.
INDIglow was born from that realisation.
Not from a perfect business plan.
Not because I thought the world desperately needed another skincare brand.
But because I missed creating.
I missed making things with my own hands.
I missed the excitement of turning an idea into something real.
And, if I'm honest, because I wanted to prove something to myself.
04
BEGIN FIRST
Waiting for confidence.
I've spent most of my life battling self-doubt.
I'm naturally shy.
I overthink everything.
I can find a hundred reasons not to do something before I've found one reason to start.
There were so many moments where I nearly talked myself out of INDIglow altogether.
What if nobody likes it?
What if it fails?
What if I'm not good enough?
But eventually I realised I was waiting for confidence to arrive before I began.
And confidence doesn't work like that.
Sometimes you have to begin first.
So that's what I did.
INDIglow is the first thing I've built completely from my own ideas, instincts and creativity, and that feels equal parts exciting and terrifying.
05
MADE ACROSS TWO COUNTRIES
Creating with my mum.
One of the most special parts of INDIglow is that it allows me to continue creating alongside my mum, even though we now live in different countries.
For years, she worked with me and loved the making side of things just as much as I did. When I moved to Cyprus, I didn't want to lose that connection.
There's something really special about knowing we're still creating together, sharing ideas and making things by hand, despite being hundreds of miles apart.
Family runs through everything I do.
I have four children, and some of my favourite moments are the smallest ones.
Bringing home a balm I've made.
A soap.
A lip product.
A little self-care package put together just for them.
What always makes me smile is that they seem to love it even more when they know I've made it myself.
Not because it's expensive.
Not because it's trendy.
But because Mum made it.
Those moments remind me why I love creating things in the first place.
06
WHY SKINCARE
Comfort, not complication.
Skin
Growing up, I struggled with eczema on my arms and legs. I remember scratching until I bled, waking up with sore skin and feeling uncomfortable far more often than a child should.
Even now, those memories stay with me.
They've shaped the way I think about skincare and body care.
I want products to feel comforting.
I want them to feel enjoyable to use.
I want them to be the products you actually reach for every day, rather than the ones that get forgotten in the back of a cupboard.
Ritual
I love working with beautiful oils, butters and botanicals, and you'll find them throughout INDIglow.
More than anything, though, I believe self-care should feel simple.
Not complicated.
Not overwhelming.
Just small rituals that fit naturally into everyday life.
07
TATTOO AFTERCARE
What if I make one?
My husband has been tattooing since he was fourteen years old, so tattooing has been part of our lives for a very long time.
When I started creating INDIglow, we found ourselves talking about tattoo aftercare a lot. He'd never really found a product he genuinely loved using. Some felt overly clinical. Others looked nice but didn't perform the way he wanted them to.
One day I simply thought:
"What if I make one?"
That question ended up becoming one of the foundations of the brand.
I wanted to create products that worked well, felt beautiful to use, and fitted naturally into the rituals people already enjoy.
Whether that's looking after a fresh tattoo, applying a body oil after a shower, or reaching for a lip balm before bed.
08
EVERY PIECE OF MY LIFE
Hundreds of little pieces.
The funny thing is, INDIglow isn't really the result of a perfect business plan.
It's the result of hundreds of little pieces of my life colliding together.
The little girl making potions from crushed petals.
The teenager dreaming about having a beautiful little shop one day.
The woman who spent six years learning how to formulate products.
The mum who comes home with handmade balms and soaps because her children get excited when they know they've been made especially for them.
The person who moved across Europe and suddenly had to figure out who she was when everything familiar disappeared.
The anxious version of me who nearly talked herself out of this more times than I can count.
And the version of me writing this now, finally deciding to trust herself a little more.
INDIglow is probably the most personal thing I’ve ever created.
Not because it's perfect.
Not because I have everything figured out.
But because for the first time, I gave myself permission to create something that reflects every side of who I am.
